Good question! The specific answer your question is a snippit below the link from another post is below. However, I would recommend reading the rest of the post located here:
http://www.archangelprinting.com/productlabs/forum/index.php?topic=15.0
...
At this point, the app will display a message saying “AP Product Labs is currently private”. This problem is a result of a flaw in the MySpace platform, not the APPL platform. The workaround is simple, but MUST be followed, exactly!
a. Copy the following URL into your web browser:
http://www.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user&appId=121623&appvers=dev
b. Follow the link, and then BOOKMARK it! When visiting MySpace to demo the app, be sure you click on this link, after you have logged in to MySpace normally. This will ensure that the app is always visible to you, even as a tester.
c. If, for any reason, you cannot install the app because of the “AP Product Labs is currently private” message, then click and bookmark the above link before attempting to install.

Thanks, Brett!
If you follow the link that Brett provided, there are also instructions for applying for Developer status on MySpace (it only takes a few minutes); this will completely eliminate the issue, rather than work around it, since the flaw does not seem to exist when you are logged in as a Developer.

The very last post in the thread that Brett linked you to has step by step directions for this.
AP Product Labs currently set to private - how to fix!
Since you are not a developer yet, when you click the BUILD button towards the top of the page (after following the Developer Platform link that is provided in that thread, at the bottom, currently the last post as of 5 July 2009 - 1:35pm) you will automatically be asked to fill out the form. It is only a few questions, and not all fields are required.

This is what the Developer Platform page looks like (again, the link to this page can be found in the thread that Brett and I linked to, above); remember, you should already be logged into MySpace when you go to this page. Click the button, as indicated, and you should be asked to fill out the form to become a Developer.

nope, not seeing what you are describing. sorry.

. You must be friends with Digitech Software on MySpace (this is the main developer account for the app; we must have you as a friend in order to add you as a tester). If you are not yet friends with Digitech Software, check out our MySpace page by visiting:
http://www.myspace.com/digitechsoftware
done
2. Register at the AP Product Labs community forums, by visiting:
http://www.archangelprinting.com/productlabs/forum/index.php
done
3. Once you have completed steps 1 and 2, contact us through MySpace. We will have to manually approve your account as a BETA tester, before you are allowed to install the application.
done
4. Once approved, you will receive notification from us. Upon receipt of notification, you will be able to go to the AP Product Labs application page, and install the BETA version of the APPL platform. Be sure you make the app appear on all surfaces (ie, Canvas, Profile, Home)!
done
5. At this point, the app will display a message saying “AP Product Labs is currently private”. This problem is a result of a flaw in the MySpace platform, not the APPL platform. The workaround is simple, but MUST be followed, exactly!
got it
a. Copy the following URL into your web browser:
http://www.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user&appId=121623&appvers=dev
done
b. Follow the link, and then BOOKMARK it! When visiting MySpace to demo the app, be sure you click on this link, after you have logged in to MySpace normally. This will ensure that the app is always visible to you, even as a tester.
uh, follow what link? this is where I get lost
c. If, for any reason, you cannot install the app because of the “AP Product Labs is currently private” message, then click and bookmark the above link before attempting to install.

The link referred to in step
5b
is the very one that you wrote DONE next to, in step
5a
! However, this is not the set of directions for activating your account as a Developer. I know you were able to resolve this issue since making this post, but I am adding to this for future readers who might get confused, as well!
The directions that you copied, above, are the original solution to the problem, as provided by MySpace. However, we got tired of having to click on that link every time we wanted to load up the app, so we have started asking our BETA Testers to apply for Developer status with MySpace, which circumvents the issue, entirely. Directions for this are as follows:
Quote from: Justin Walker on June 21, 2009, 01:03:28 AM
For anybody who is actively BETA testing; we are sick and tired of the stupid "AP Product Labs is currently private" nonsense, so we are having all interested parties add a "Developer" status to their existing MySpace account. Doing this is simple:
-
While logged into MySpace, click the following link:
http://developer.myspace.com/community/
-
You will notice a link towards the top of the page that says "Build"; click this link. Since you do not do not currently have "Developer" status, it will ask you to fill out a short form (very few lines) and submit it.
-
MySpace will immediately send you a confirmation e-mail, containing a link; click this link to confirm your account.
-
Send us a message as soon as you do this, and we will change your name from the "Tester" column to the "Developer" column, eliminating this annoying bug!
That's it! After that, you should be able to visit anybody's store, with no extra links or extra steps to take.

Ok, I am not quite sure how to use it. I have a blank page without anything to select or do.
Is there a demo somewhere to look at?

We are working on some brief tutorial videos to help you get started. In the meantime; which blank screen are you looking at? The default view is the Store View (what people see when they look at your store), although when you are logged in and looking at YOUR store, you will also see the control bar at the top which allows you to go to the Product Lab, view your stats, edit account info, etc. Remember, the control bar at the top of the app will only appear when you are viewing your own store - if you visit anyone else's store, you will not see these options (so Don't Panic!).
BE AWARE:
The buttons on the top navigation bar to the APPL are
NOT
permanent! They were just space fillers, for the time being. Better, more intuitive buttons for that part of the app are coming soon.
Every button, input box, etc. has a Tool Tip attached to it (those handy little tips that pop up when you hover over any item); find the "Add Item" button (the "+" button at the bottom of the My Items list) and click it - once you have created your new item, the work space represents the printable area you are currently designing (click the Preview button to zoom out to see the entire shirt). You can use the tools on the left to add images, text, etc, and the inputs below the work space allow you to add your markup, select whether or not an item is shareable, etc. You can also use the buttons at the lower right (next to the Item Print Location visual list, which indicates what Item Print Locations you have designed for the currently selected item from the My Items list) to add or remove print locations from the current item.
Hope this brief overview helps, a bit! Videos and PDF documentation is coming, soon.
